The American Massacre

Here is an interesting read. It lists all the known school shootings in the US from 1700 to 2010. You’ll notice that the more sophisticated the weapon and the more people that owned guns, the more people were killed. It should also be noted that Parkland was the 19th school shooting this year and there are still five days left in what is only the second month. And it’s not just school shootings that concern me. The people in Las Vegas expected to enjoy a nice evening dancing and listening to good music and 58 of them are now and 500 more injured.

We can never completely stop it but we can definitely slow it down by outlawing automatic rifles, extended clips and requiring background checks to make sure that criminals and mentally ill can’t have guns.

To those who say, “If we outlaw them they’ll just find another way to get them,” I say let them, we’ll close that loophole too.

To those that say, “these people are criminals, if we make laws they will just violate them,” I say that’s like saying we should repeal all traffic laws because people just violate them anyway.

“Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” One of the most idiotic statements I’ve ever heard. No gun can get up and just kill somebody, there always has to be “people” involvement. If I had a nickel for every time I’ve heard that phrase I would be a rich man today. I can’t believe so many people are dumb enough to fall for that NRA propaganda.

One of my favorites is, “The only way to deal with a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.” These guys have surprise on their side. I don’t know about anybody else, but I think that in Los Vegas if the shooter had looked out that window and saw a person with an AK47 or AR15, that would be the first person shot.

And finally, to those that say now is not the time to talk about it, I say–YOU ARE WRONG, IT IS LONG PAST TIME TO TALK ABOUT IT.

The students at Parkland are fed up. They are marching and demonstrating and making their voices heard.

I hope they don’t give up. I hope they become like the hippies of the 70’s who brought about the end of the Vietnam war, or those that marched with MLK for civil rights and voting rights.

Michael is saddened by the state of affairs today. The discrimination against blacks and women and LGBTQ. He is saddened by the deaths of so many people because of gun ownership in a society that seems to think it is acceptable for a person to go into a school and kill 20 children or into a mall and kill many people. He is saddened by a political party that supports the very rich and corporations over men, women, children and others. Michael is disgusted by a political party that refuses to support our veterans, our elderly and the working people of America. He is disgusted by government officials that totally refuse to do the job they are elected to do.

  1. We need restrictions and policies for guns. We need to control who gets these guns. It’s not just people with mental problems that we need to watch. There are many people that we don’t know have sick minds. The people that have been holding stuff in for a while. Trump quoted”Armed Educators (and trusted people who work within a school) love our students and will protect them. Very smart people. Must be firearms adept & have annual training. Should get yearly bonus. Shootings will not happen again – a big & very inexpensive deterrent. Up to States.” on Twitter. To be completely honest, nobody should really have guns. We need to only have policemen on duty at all times. We don’t know who’s minds will flip and think to do something wrong. How do we know these people are trustworthy? They could say one thing and mean another. When Trump took office, he took and oath. He said he would defend and protect the U.S. Some of the things that he says, you don’t know for sure. Check out some of his Tweets. What president has time to watch eight hours of TV a day? That is how you know that he doesn’t do anything. What president has time to spend hours on Twitter? We should speak our minds. Some people are scared to say what they feel. I’m not. I hear many kids at school saying that their parents voted for Trump because he speaks his mind. He speaks his mind the ignorant way. Ignoramus doesn’t explain it.
Trump say this: So true Wayne, and Lowest black unemployment in history!
Thank you to the great men and women of the United States @SecretService for a job well done! Does anyone remember when Trump’s dad paid a doctor to sign him off so that he won’t serve in the military?Who voted Trump into office?

  2. Thank you for being a voice for us…Guns are not a toy nor a joke! I encouraged you to interview sheriff of Broward County a week ago. We need to listen to him. He knows of which he speaks!I think he would showed his great, honesty, intelligence and true colors of his character. And his most excellent service of the PEOPLE. His request for $ is with good reason! Not like the spin of the n r a or g o p. I think they are targeting him because he spoke out against the nra. Which takes a great deal of bravery. The protesters that were against him was a very small group and should be investigated or at least interviewed on tv. They were probably paid. That is what the gop to and then blame the demarcates for doing. I also believe the n r a is connected to Russia. They are certainly doing their dirty work in America. I heard that only 1 time this week and nothing
